A couple of childhood experiences make this especially close to home. My Dad leaving when I was 8. And four years later, unexpectedly watching my Grandad pass away whilst home alone with him.
These experiences led to years of relentlessly seeking external validation, trying anything to bury my emotions. And for a while, it worked.
Eventually I hit a wall. I tried everything: therapy, journalling, psychedelics, fasting, silent meditation retreats. It all helped, but I was still resisting.
In a last-ditch attempt to "fix" myself, I quit my job, ended my relationship and booked a one-way flight to go monastery-hopping in Thailand.
After a profound experience meditating one day, I had a breakthrough. A deep emotional release, and a collapse of the belief system I'd been imprisoned by for years: that it was all my fault, that the world was out to get me, that I wasn't worthy of love.
My new purpose became crystal clear. Create a space for others to reconnect with themselves and live more authentically. I booked a flight home two days later and got to work.
And that's OK, because you have the capacity to heal, grow, and make your mark on the world.
Being part of The Collective is about reconnecting with that part of you. It's not about "fixing" you. It's about realising you were never broken in the first place.
And having a laugh on the way.
How we work, and why it's different.
We only teach practices that have personally worked for us. Every tool, every technique has been tested in real life before it reaches you. This isn't academic. It's personal.
Grounded in Eastern philosophy, adapted for the Western world. Ancient wisdom made practical for people who have jobs, responsibilities, and no intention of moving to a monastery.
Methods you can build into daily life without becoming a monk. Tools you can use between meetings, before a difficult conversation, in the middle of a bad week. Anywhere. Anytime.
The trust comes from how we show up, not what we've collected. But for those who want to see the background.
